1. Foo Foo Festival in Pensacola
Pensacola has been ruled over by five different nations (Spain, France, Great Britain, the United States of America, and the Confederate States of America), hence its nickname “City of Five Flags”, and its history has given rise to a truly diverse and amazing cultural and artistic background.
Twelve days of celebration are scheduled here from November 2 to 13, for the 10th Foo Foo Festival. Through a packed calendar of events and demonstrations featuring various local and national artists, the Pensacola community celebrates the visual arts, music, theater, and all of its rich artistic and cultural heritage.
2. Ocala Food & Wine Festival
For food and wine enthusiasts, the Ocala Food & Wine Festival is a one-of-a-kind, three-day beer, food, wine, and spirits tasting experience. The event returns for the third consecutive year at the World Equestrian Center with celebrity chefs and exciting cooking competitions.
3. Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
With a program of independent, international, and student films, in addition to special tributes, the International Film Festival in Fort Lauderdale has gained a reputation over time and is considered one of the nation’s top film festivals. Some 200 films will be screened during the International Film Festival from November 3 to 12. What a treat for movie buffs.
4. Feast of Little Italy
Italy is loved by all for its stunning landscapes and welcoming culture. The Feast of Little Italy at Abacoa Town Center, Jupiter is the perfect opportunity to get a little taste of it. It is the largest Italian festival in South Florida, with about 70,000 people attending each year. Visitors will enjoy Italian culture, great Italian food, and wine, live music, art, wine seminars, a bocce pavilion, cooking demonstrations, pizza, and lasagna. The Feast of Little Italy will be held on November 3-4.
5. Day of the Dead Celebrations
Where the dead go is not known to us, but legend has it that on the Day of the Dead, the gateway between Mictlan, the land of the dead of the ancient Aztecs, and our world opens giving the living and the dead a moment of sharing and finding each other. It is a comforting thought and you can join the celebrations at the Naples Botanical Garden on November 4-5, downtown Fort Lauderdale on November 4, and at the Florida Keys Brewing Company in Islamorada on November 3.
6. Halifax Art Festival
Art reaches new heights at the Halifax Art Festival, along Daytona’s Beach Street (find out all that Daytona Beach has to offer). The event has been held for 61 years and offers artwork from oil paintings to metal sculptures and one-of-a-kind ceramics and crafts by more than 200 artists. Art is waiting for you along Downtown Beach Street at Daytona Beach on November 4 and 5.
7. Miami Rum Renaissance Festival
Coral Gables, Florida, is set to host its annual rum festival on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12. An event that caters to all the world’s top rum producers and enthusiasts who will have the opportunity to connect with dozens of distilleries, importers, producers, and distributors while sampling a wide selection of limited edition and vintage luxury rums.
8. Miami Book Fair
Miami never misses an opportunity to surprise residents (if you want to be a Miami resident too, browse all the pre- and under-construction projects at NEO, New Estate Only) and visitors, and this time it’s the turn of the Miami Book Fair. The city will be transformed into a literary wonderland hosting some 300 critically and publicly acclaimed authors. At the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus from November 12 to 19, just under 3 miles from the famous Miami Design District.
9. Jacksonville light boat parade
One of the best floating Christmas parades on the water in North Florida will take place in Jacksonville on November 25. The Jacksonville Light Boat Parade is a holiday season tradition that has been held for more than 30 years. Year after year, residents and visitors are astounded by the variety of shapes and sizes of the vessels floating along the north and south banks of the St. Johns River perfectly decorated for the holidays. The city’s largest fireworks display of the season ends the parade.
