Crystal-clear waters of the Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, fine white sand, and glorious nature preserves. For many, the sea and the beaches are prime reasons for many to relocate or travel to Florida. Living in Florida is like a never-ending seaside vacation because the mild climate year-round means you can take a dip in the sea and enjoy beach life nearly every day. But which beach to choose? Here is a review of Florida’s best beach locations.

Florida’s most beautiful beaches

Miami Beach and South Beach

We cannot but start with the most famous beach in all of Florida (and perhaps the United States). Miami Beach is an expanse of white sand overlooking a dreamy sea within the Miami metropolitan area and is nestled in a glamorous location renowned for its sizzling nightlife. Miami Beach is a city neighborhood (and one of the top Instagrammable locations in Miami). It has plenty of attractions to offer, including upscale restaurants, art deco architecture, pool parties, the Lifeguard towers, South Pointe Park and Pier, and the Miami Beach Boardwalk ideal for taking a stroll during the day or at night. The best beaches in the Miami Beach and South Beach area are Lummus Park Beach and India Beach Park.

Key West and the Florida Keys

It feels like the Caribbean, yet we are still in Florida. Not far from Miami, at the southern tip of Florida and just north of Cuba, lies the Florida Keys archipelago with its islands connected by the Overseas Highway (discover Florida on the road). Key West is the most advanced end of this archipelago, closer to Havana than to Miami, and its waters are famous for coral reefs and snorkeling. We are in the Gulf of Mexico. The sea is dreamy and the beaches – despite the crowds and the allure – have crystal-white sand. Some of the best beaches in Key West include Smarthers Beach and Bahia Honda State Park.

But the most beautiful beaches in the Florida Keys are those on the way to Key West, like the renowned Bahia Honda State Park and the delightful Sombrero Beach.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

On the east coast of Florida, not far from Miami, lies the so-called Venice of America. We are talking about Fort Lauderdale, a location rich in style and Florida charm that is famous for being crisscrossed by canals and waterways, but also offers one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Florida. The best is the main one, a long strip of fine sand starting from the marina, but Hollywood Beach also offers natural scenery of rare beauty.

Naples Beach

Naples overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, where transparent waters reveal the spectacle of the shallows and the sea animals. Adding to the natural beauty are the white sandy beaches and stunning sunsets over the sea that light up the sky in a variety of colors. Naples Pier was among the very first infrastructure built by the city’s wealthy buyers in the 1800s and still is one of the most distinctive vantage points on the Gulf. Naples Beach, on the other hand, offers relaxation and natural beauty to bathers.

Siesta Beach

Staying on the west coast of Florida, it is impossible not to mention Siesta Beach. It is one of the most important beaches near Sarasota, on the island called Siesta Key, and its special feature is that the sand is made up mostly of quartz and consequently never gets hot. It is perfect for a long walk on the beach, skirting the clear sea of the Gulf of Mexico, and – if you are particularly lucky – watching the sea turtles that come to lay their eggs here.

Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach in Pinellas County is one of the best beaches in the Tampa area. It is one of the most popular beaches in Florida because it combines all the essential ingredients of a dream seaside location including four kilometers of white sand, the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico that are ideal for diving and snorkeling, fish in abundance, and countless sports activities and services that overlook it.

Cocoa Beach

There are many beaches near Orlando but the most renowned is Cocoa Beach. Located on the stretch of coastline north of Miami, in eastern Florida, facing the Atlantic Ocean, there is a mile-long beach popular with families and, above all, surfers. The world’s best gather here to train and compete on the waves that make Cocoa Beach the most famous surfing location in Florida. The Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, the main NASA base in Florida is also very close to Cocoa Beach and can be visited on a very interesting guided tour.
