From champagne to fireworks, New Year’s Eve is a time for greatness and celebration. The year 2022 is upon us and I’m ready to celebrate the arrival of the new year. You’ll be spoilt for choice. I’ve selected the best parties and celebrations, from north to south of the state to welcome the incoming new year.
Key West: street parties
I go to Key West whenever I feel like having fun and relaxing. It’s the perfect place to spend a vacation, weekend, or celebration. Located in the south, the Florida Keys are a chain of small islands connected by 22 bridges. The southernmost island is Key West, also famous for its breathtaking sunsets. It is also a perfect place to say goodbye to the old year that is ending and to start the new one, in a spectacular way. Fantastic all-night beach parties are organized for this occasion.
You can decide to start the evening with a yacht cruise at sunset and then attend one of the many parties organized by the coolest clubs on the island. At the Schooner Wharf Bar, a concert is held that ends with a spectacular cannon blast at midnight.
Orlando: Enzian's James Bond new year's Eve
At the Enzian Theatre in Maitland, a 30-minute drive from downtown Orlando, a sumptuous James Bond–themed dinner will be held for New Year’s Eve. It will be a “good excuse” to dress up as the intrepid British spy, in an evening event that also includes screenings of his most famous films, a costume contest and a dance party. The event begins at 8:00 p.m. and is held in the beautiful halls of the theater and the lush gardens surrounding the building. There is also a bar outside where cocktails and drinks are served throughout the whole evening. The celebration attracts a crowd of film fans of all ages every year.
Tampa: at the Hilton Garden Inn with the Dinner Detectives
In Tampa, you can take part in a very engaging play because it is an interactive performance. It’s an evening show run by The Dinner Detectives, a national company that operates in 87 cities. This December 31st, they’ll be in Tampa, helping guests unearth clues and solve a murder at the Hilton Garden Inn, where anyone could be the killer.
Miami : dinner at the elegant Public Square
At Public Square restaurant in South Miami, focused on fresh American fare with artisanal ingredients and California wines, for New Year’s Eve you can enjoy a five-course fixed-price menu in a warm, luxurious atmosphere that begins with crabmeat terrine with avocado mousse, tomatillo Verde and swordfish caviar. Dinner ends on a high note with a delicious chocolate mousse.
Concert by the sea
Music lovers can welcome the New Year by the waterfront by attending an exceptional free concert. Led by artistic director Elaine Rinaldi, Orchestra Miami will perform Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy). Also featured will be world-class soloists, a 60-voice choir and Cuban-American poet Richard Blanco. An incredible evening crowned by a New Year’s Eve fireworks display!
Poiseidon Ferry in Biscayne Bay
Nothing could be more exciting than celebrating New Year’s Eve 2022 on the Poseidon Ferry. The New Year’s Eve cruise begins at 9:00 p.m. and runs until 12:30 a.m., cruising the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay. On board you can enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, the exciting music of a DJ, dancing, and a champagne toast at midnight.
